Soma was Solomon Ulmer’s brother, married Róza Edelmann in 1902 and was last found in Pétervására’s 1924 directory.
Soma Ulmer was born in Pétervására in 1851. On 17 April 1902 he married Róza Edelmann there. Civil certificate 8 names his parents as the late Ulmer Farkas and the late Deszberg Borbála; it names Róza’s parents as the late Edelman Jakab and the late Senk Róza.
Solomon Ulmer’s 1937 Ohio death certificate names his parents as Wolfleb Ulmer and Deborah Desburg. Farkas corresponds to Wolf, and the two records preserve Hungarian and American forms of Deborah’s name. The matched parents establish Soma and Solomon as brothers rather than joining them by surname alone.
A 1924 directory lists Soma as an innkeeper and grocer in Pétervására. This is his last sourced appearance in the current research. He is not named on the community’s 1944 victim list, and no record found so far establishes what happened to him after 1924.
