מעריב למוצאי יום כפור על כן נקוה לך ה׳ אלהינו לראות מהרה בתפארת עזך... ביום ההוא יהיה ה׳ אחד ושמו אחד. Nach Ausgang des Versöhnungstages wird über einen Becher Wein Habdala gesprochen. Gewürze werden nur genommen, wenn der Versöhnungstag auf einen Sabbat fiel (doch gibt es hierbei verschiedenen Ortsgebrauch). Zum Segensspruch nimmt man ein Licht, das während des ganzen Versöhnungstages gebrannt hat oder das an einem solchen angezündet worden, ein neu entzündetes Licht kann man nur nach Ausgang des Sabbats verwenden. Man begrüßt sich gegenseitig wie beim Eingang eines Festtages und begibt sich freudig nach Hause zur Mahlzeit. Die Frommen beginnen hierauf mit den Vorbereitungen zur Herstellung der Sukka. Am Ausgang des Versöhnungstages heiligt man den Neumond.

מעריב למוצאי יום כפור על כן נקוה לך ה׳ אלהינו לראות מהרה בתפארת עזך... ביום ההוא יהיה ה׳ אחד ושמו אחד. במוצאי יום הכיפורים אומרים הבדלה על כוס יין. בשמים נוטלים רק אם חל יום הכיפורים בשבת (אך יש בכך מנהגים שונים לפי המקום). לברכה נוטלים נר שדלק במשך כל יום הכיפורים או שהודלק מנר כזה; בנר שהודלק מחדש אפשר להשתמש רק במוצאי שבת. מברכים זה את זה כבכניסת יום טוב והולכים בשמחה הביתה לסעודה. החסידים מתחילים לאחר מכן בהכנות לבניית הסוכה. במוצאי יום הכיפורים מקדשים את הלבנה.

Evening prayer at the conclusion of Yom Kippur. Therefore we place our hope in You, Eternal One our God, soon to behold the glory of Your strength: to remove idols from the earth and utterly cut down false gods; to repair the world under the sovereignty of the Almighty. Then all humanity will call upon Your name, and all the wicked of the earth will turn toward You. All who dwell in the world will recognize and know that every knee must bend before You and every tongue swear loyalty. Before You, Eternal One our God, they will bow and fall, and give honor to Your glorious name. All will accept the yoke of Your sovereignty, and You will reign over them quickly, forever and ever. For sovereignty is Yours, and You will reign in glory forever, as it is written in Your Torah: “The Eternal One will reign forever and ever.” And it is said: “The Eternal One will be King over all the earth; on that day the Eternal One will be One and His name One.” At the conclusion of the Day of Atonement, Havdalah is recited over a cup of wine. Spices are used only when the Day of Atonement fell on the Sabbath, although local customs differ. For the blessing over light, one uses a light that burned throughout the Day of Atonement or one kindled from such a light; a newly kindled light may be used only after the Sabbath has ended. People greet one another as at the beginning of a festival and joyfully return home for the meal. The pious then begin preparations for building the sukkah. At the conclusion of the Day of Atonement, the new moon is sanctified.
