Remembering Paul J. Reichenbach
Summer 1980
Contributed
PJR changed my life. I attended Kutz the Summer of 1980. Originally for Academy 1. Then I begged and stayed for Academy 2. Then I applied and stayed for three more weeks as Camper staff. You see, there was no need for me to go home as I already was home. I worked in the office for the last three weeks. Killed a lot of flies and tried to listen to Paul when asked to answer the phones and stop dancing around the room. That summer opened up the world of Reform Judaism and the idea that I could find my Judaism wherever I was. By a lake, in a Pagoda or on a bus trip to NYC. 46 years later I am still on the board of my Temple, raised two kids(one of whom is a Jewish professional) and continue to look for the divine in ordinary daily life. I am so grateful that I was able to thank him at an Eisner Crane Lake Stakeholders Mtg. He was kind and listened to my gratitude and gave me a lovely hug. Thank you PJR. Your memory will continue to be a blessing. The ripples of your work will reverberate for generations.
