Rights and reuse
Before you reuse an image or text
Some things here belong to the family archive. Others belong to museums, libraries, photographers or other rights holders. The object page tells you which is which.
Family-held, public-domain and licensed objects can be shown directly. When an image should not be hosted here, the page points to the institution that holds it.
Research or noncommercial use does not erase copyright. Keep the creator, repository, inventory number, source link and any license or restriction with the object. The archive does not sell reproductions or imply endorsement by a credited institution.
The archive can license its own narrative, captions, translations and family-held material when the object page says it administers reuse. It cannot grant rights to someone else’s work merely because that work is discussed here.
Living-person personal data, genetic data, restricted restitution files and family-private material remain excluded. Do not remove repository credits, creator names, license notices or provenance statements.
The site’s social-share card is a modern AI-generated promotional graphic; it is not an archival object.
Interpretive images
Do not reuse an interpretation as evidence
Interpretive and AI-assisted images are listed on their object pages and may not be reused as historical views of a building, room or face.
Corrections and takedown
Tell us if a record needs attention
The archive publishes historical material in good faith with the fullest source and credit information currently available. A rights holder, supplying institution or person with relevant evidence may request a corrected attribution, added context, a replacement source link, restricted display or removal.
Email contact@reichenbacharchive.org with the page address or the photograph’s number (for example RB-PHO-0207), the requested change and the basis for the request. The archive will review a documented request promptly, preserve the historical and administrative record, and correct or remove material when warranted.
