How this archive is arranged and kept
These nine groups keep the archive’s structure visible. A letter remains with letters; a family photograph remains with photographs. Open a group to scan its records, or browse it as a focused collection.
Within each group, historical records follow the date when the photograph, document or object was made. Conventional viewing copies stay with the date of the source they reproduce; newly created interpretations use their own creation date. An older event, inscription or source pictured in a modern work does not pull that work to the front. Related pages and views stay together; undated records follow.
Custodial history. The letter and the family-held photographs stayed with the family after Dolf left Germany. Later descendants kept them in the United States. Rabbi Daniel Dolph Reichenbach opened this public digital archive in 2026. Institutional images on the site were not transferred here; they remain with the museums and archives that hold them.
Immediate source of acquisition. Family-held objects come from the Reichenbach and Ulmer families. Published and repository items are cited and, where rights allow, shown as copies. Nothing here is a deposit in another institution.
Living-person restriction. Living people are named only as the archive already publishes them. Ages and current American street addresses are not. Vernon Jacob is published as Living. Reproduction of living-person pages is restricted.
The counts refer to public digital records, not boxes, folders or physical objects. When a date or custody history is unknown, the object page says so.
The Reading Room opens with a 14-record guided path and makes all 64 selected records browsable. This Complete Catalog lists all 375 public object records across 9 archival series.

JSON and CSV come from this same object registry. The workbook is a dated snapshot. Each row keeps evidence status, uncertainty, provenance, credit, and rights together; an image URL points to a web-access file, not automatically to a preservation master.
