The mourning album turns Hebrew anniversaries into civil dates

This page of the family’s mourning album shows the printed tables that align Hebrew and civil memorial dates. The volume was completed for Paul Reichenbach and kept by his family. The tables guided later observance, but they do not record which anniversaries the family actually marked.

English translation

Anniversary dates in the years of the civil calendar (calculated for fifty years). The printed table gives the civil-calendar date of the Jewish anniversary of death for each year from 1936 through 1985. When lighting the anniversary candle, the following is said: The memorial light is lit on the evening before the anniversary and the following prayer is recited: “In this flame, dear departed soul, I proclaim your radiance on earth; may your soul rise to heavenly joy. Peace be with you. Amen.”

English of the legible text, prepared for the Reichenbach Family Archive.
