This page names only the places this archive can still put this family. Each section is the months they were recorded there, one photograph of the site now, and the names the file can hold. Numbers appear only where a source gives them. A prisoner number is a camp-file key, not a badge. Warsaw is not a camp. The photographs are memorial views. They are not pictures of these people.
November 1938
This family’s Buchenwald is the November 1938 special camp, not the later concentration camp. After 9 November 1938 the Gestapo sent thousands of Jewish men to a fenced-off area beside the roll-call square. The Buchenwald Memorial keeps that history on its own page, “Special Camp for the November Pogrom.” Most of the men who survived were released within weeks, on the condition they leave Germany. This archive does not retell the camp that ran until 1945.

Prisoner 23976. Murdered 22 November 1938, 4:00 a.m., in Arrest. The Todesmeldung gives the official cause Schlaganfall, last address Breite Straße 7, and Stapo Magdeburg. VAM 1.1.5.1 DocID 5278136 also names him and gives the date of birth 14.3.84.

Kurt was later named on the Halberstadt transport of 12 April 1942. His last named place is Warsaw, 16 April 1942, 6 a.m.
Search the Arolsen collection for Kurt and prisoner 30536Prisoner 23938. A money-card envelope and the 1.1.5.1 Aktionsjuden list, running number 309, DocID 5278159, are name + 23938 only. Cards 054.328 and 054.329 have a blank date of birth: 30 RM recorded 28 November; emptied 15 October 1940. The identification is circumstantial: the number sits 38 below Fritz 23976 in the same November 1938 block. This archive does not treat the camp file as proof that he was Fritz’s son. He fled to Brazil in 1939.

November–December 1938
Opened in 1936 at Oranienburg as an SS “model” camp. After 9 November 1938 the police sent thousands of Jewish men there. Max’s record is that internment and his release, not a number, and not the later camp.
This family
No prisoner number has been found. Max was interned until 15 December 1938 and died in Berlin on 18 January 1940. Gedenkbuch de1138559 notes Freitod. That is a memorial note, not a civil death act this archive has seen.

March 1943
A German camp and killing center in occupied Poland. This page does not treat Martha as a registered inmate, and it does not retell Auschwitz.

Berlin 33. Osttransport / Welle 47, 3 March 1943. OFP 30792 and Arolsen DocID 127212607, running number 963. Häftlingsnummer blank. No intake card. This is a transport series and unregistered arrival, not a registered inmate. The 2009 Wernigerode stone “tot 1944 bei Bombenangriff” is a local inscription, not family testimony, and not a camp fact. This page does not choose.

September–October 1942
The fortress town of Terezín, used as a ghetto and transit camp—not a KL with a prisoner number of the Buchenwald kind. Jeanette died in the ghetto. This archive does not retell the 1944 propaganda visit.

Sealed in 1940. This family’s named trail ends with a train recorded at 6 a.m. on 16 April 1942. It is not a concentration-camp number. For Teachers already tells a class not to name a camp for Kurt, Paula and Hans. This section must not become one.

Czerniaków wrote a train of newcomers from Germany at 6 a.m. on 16 April 1942. No camp numbers. The named trail ends there. Read One Day.
