Hans Adalbert Wollenberg was born in Eisenach on 3 June 1907. He grew up as the son of Paula and Georg Wollenberg, whose household and work were bound to the Reichenbach clothing business.

The 1938 Halberstadt address book lists Hans as a merchant with J. Reichenbach and places him at Moltkestraße 11 with Georg. By April 1942 Hans and Paula were living at Westendorf 15, the former Jewish school turned into forced collective housing.

Halberstadt forced Hans and Paula to Domplatz on 12 April. Their train left Magdeburg on 14 April and was recorded in Warsaw on 16 April. A Central Tracing Bureau record later described him only as über Warschau in unbekannter Richtung: through Warsaw in an unknown direction.

No surviving record now places Hans after Warsaw on 16 April 1942.
