A visible record of material change

The family gallery now shows ten of the twelve portfolio prints, with Judenstraße (RB-SCAN-051) and Hinter dem Richthaus (RB-SCAN-052) newly photographed. Comparison with numbered sheets and the contents leaf of a complete portfolio corrects RB-SCAN-045: it is Walter Ebeling’s Eingang zum Lichtengraben, previously tentatively attributed to Walter Gemm as Hinter dem Richthaus. Its accession, original image and permanent URL remain unchanged.

• The default path was focused to 14 records: the letter, the German households, persecution and flight, and the American chapter.
• The former 59-record selection was preserved. With three newly promoted key sources, all 64 Reading Room records are now directly available through “Browse all selected records.”
• The Complete Catalog and search continue to expose all 375 public object records.

• Chapter 3 now places Max in the correct generation: son of Adolf and Goldine, brother of Paul and Ernst. The source cited in his biography is Halberstadt birth register no. 655 (FamilySearch index).
• Chapter 3 no longer assigns the 1921 Martiniplan ownership entry to one of the two men named Kurt Reichenbach. That identification remains unresolved.
• Chapters 4 and 11 no longer present Werner’s identification as Buchenwald prisoner 23938, or a joint arrest with Fritz, as established. The file lacks a birth date; the association remains circumstantial. These corrections align the English, German and Hebrew Story with the biographies, not with newly accessioned evidence.

• Made search counts and filters use the full catalogue before pagination, including localized titles, dates, status and provenance; series browsing now says when a keyword changes chronological browsing to relevance order.
• Rebuilt catalogue chronology from each record’s explicit archival date, kept related views together, placed undated material last and made date ranges and page counts explicit.
• Moved biographies, Reading Room controls and narrow-screen navigation into a clearer reading order, exposed Search, Reading Room and Complete Catalog on larger screens, and restored responsive image delivery to the homepage.

Correction status: this entry records improvements to access, sequence and translation. It does not change accession identifiers, images, sources, rights or evidentiary claims.

• Completed full German and Hebrew detail editions for all 353 permanent object records. Every object page now carries its title, captions, interpretive text, dates, provenance, custody, credit, rights, image-treatment and uncertainty language in all three languages, with localized series, navigation and citation links.
• Source-language transcriptions and the credited English translations remain unchanged. Where the source language is not the visitor’s, a separately labelled and credited reading is provided; readings prepared from the archive’s English reading say so and are not presented as diplomatic transcriptions.
• Dolf’s 1938 letter remains published in its German original and Rabbi Dr. Esther Jilovsky’s English translation only. No German or Hebrew re-rendering of the letter was created.

Correction status: this entry records translation coverage. Accession identifiers, images, sources, credits, rights and evidence limits are unchanged, and no new claim-changing evidence correction is recorded.

• Made translation depth explicit across 353 permanent object records: 18 curated records had full German and Hebrew editions; the remaining 335 provided localized discovery summaries before the English canonical record. This historical note records the state released on 2 September and was superseded by complete coverage on 3 September.
• Separated the 59-record Reading Room from the 353-record Complete Catalog and added stronger search, archival-series facets, permanent citations and image-access boundaries.
• Added a print-ready 45/90-minute teacher source packet and public JSON, CSV and XLSX research exports.
• Added this corrections record, a preservation and succession statement, and a nonbinding institutional transfer-preparation packet.

Correction status: this entry records access, governance and transparency improvements. It does not record a new claim-changing evidence correction.
