The newspaper names Else Reichenbach and Siegfried Sernau in marriage banns

This 1909 newspaper notice places merchant Siegfried Sernau of Halle beside Else Reichenbach of Halberstadt under marriage banns. Their names were printed before the intended marriage, and Else later appears with the married surname Sernau. The notice makes the marriage very likely, but it is not the civil marriage record and does not name their parents.

Primary contemporary newspaper report of published marriage banns
Uncertainty
The notice records the pair’s marriage banns, not the marriage itself, and does not name Else’s parents. Her married surname in the 1931 notice makes it very likely that the marriage followed. No record yet confirms whether Else was the relative remembered as Liesl or Liesel.
