Mourners stand before the ark above a transliterated Kaddish

This page of the family’s mourning album shows an illustrated plate of worshippers with the prayer printed below. The volume was completed for Paul Reichenbach and kept by his family. The scene explains the ritual setting, but the figures are printed types rather than portraits of Paul’s mourners.

English translation

Kaddish prayer May His great name be magnified and sanctified in the world that He created according to His will. May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and in your days, and in the lifetime of the whole House of Israel, speedily and soon. Say: Amen. May His great name be blessed forever and ever. Blessed, praised, glorified, exalted, uplifted, honored, elevated and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed is He—above every blessing, hymn, praise and consolation that can be spoken in the world. Say: Amen. May abundant peace from heaven and life be upon us and upon all Israel. Say: Amen. May He who makes peace in His heights make peace upon us and upon all Israel. Say: Amen.
