English translation
Prayer at the grave on the eve of New Year and the Day of Atonement Lord of all worlds, King of all kings: in an hour of grace let our wishes, longings and hopes find a hearing and fulfillment, and give what our heart desires. Above all we pray for forgiveness of guilt and sin for ourselves and our relatives, and for intimate reconciliation in Your love and mercy. Purify us from our sins and transgressions and make us clean and free of all guilt, so that our intention toward good may be remembered before You in kindness and mercy. Remember us with Your salvation and compassion. Let the good deeds of the devout who rest here be my advocates before Your holy throne, so that my prayers may be heard, for a long and happy life in peace and rest. On the eve of New Year: Remember us for life, O King who delights in life, and inscribe us in the Book of Life for Your sake, Lord of life. On the eve of the Day of Atonement: Seal our judgment on tomorrow’s Day of Atonement in the Book of Life, for Your sake, Lord of life. Grant us all a happy new year. Let Your reconciliation rule over us, so that we receive our sustenance from Your full, open and generous hand. Let the bread we eat and the garment in which we dress be granted to us richly and abundantly, with dignity and honor, throughout our lives, so that with free and cheerful spirit, mind and heart we may follow, reflect upon and study Your divine word, and keep and fulfill Your commandments with all devotion and willingness. Send us healing and recovery from every sorrow and pain, and bless us in our work and creation, so that every favorable decree concerning us may stand and be fulfilled. Turn every harsh and evil fate away from us and grant us salvation and comfort. Amen.
