English translation

VI. Son and father enjoy the finest friendship; things also go smoothly with Mother, with nothing to regret. The Rothschilds are wonderfully entertaining as a pair of parents. “It happens only once; it will not come again”: Max is famous as an angler. One may order as many enormous trout from him as one likes. The vineyard snails have only one purpose—to attract fish while angling. In this way Mother can save many marks from the household budget. Therefore Father Max is highly prized at fishing places as the best of husbands.

English translation or reading prepared for the Reichenbach Family Archive. Comic wordplay and several faint readings remain provisional.
