Faint inscription beneath Dolf’s portrait

A close view of the lower front mount beneath a portrait of young Dolf Reichenbach, not its reverse. The pencil note is German and appears to begin with ‘Dolf’; the remaining words are too faint for a reliable reading.

Object record

The identical photograph, paper mount, tape, tears and pencil placement establish the physical match. Daniel Reichenbach identifies the sitter as young Dolf. The note is written on the front mount and does not need to serve as the sitter identification; only its apparently legible opening is transcribed.
