Text note
The earlier transcription and inferred date were withdrawn after comparison with the full-resolution master scan. The surviving notation appears more consistent with photographic finishing or order information than with a caption.

- The mark “#Spiegel” may connect the print to the household of Ruth Reichenbach, whose later married name was Spiegel. If so, the print passed through Ruth’s keeping in America—a possible physical trace of her custody of family photographs. The identification is unconfirmed.
