Object record
Family recollection associated this portrait with Margarete ‘Mutti’ Reichenbach. The card’s W. Höffert imprint, studio-address configuration, dress and hairstyle place it in the late nineteenth century; Margarete, born in 1889, would have been a child. Comparison with the later portrait of Jenny Schottländer Liebenthal and Philipp Liebenthal makes Jenny a plausible candidate, but facial resemblance is not identification, and no inscription or independent record names the sitter.
