The W. Höffert card shows Jenny Schottländer Liebenthal

This late nineteenth-century cabinet card is now identified as Jenny Schottländer Liebenthal, Margarete’s mother. The studio imprint, dress, hairstyle, engagement notice and comparison portrait support the identification after an earlier family association with Margarete proved too late in date. The evidence is strong, but no inscription on the card names Jenny directly.
