Fan Berne Ulmer, born Fannie Bernstein, made her home with Jacob Morton “Yank” Ulmer at 2246 St. James Parkway in Cleveland Heights. That address appears again and again in Subie’s Simmons College registers.
A Plain Dealer notice published on 24 April 1958 gives the same home and names Fan’s daughters, Janet and Mrs. Susan Reichenbach of Boston, Massachusetts. Fan was also the sister of Joseph M. Berne, whose name appears beside the Ulmer family in Cleveland’s legal and mortgage circles.
The family crypt plaque at Mayfield Cemetery gives her name as Fan Berne Ulmer and her years as 1889–1958. It places her with Yank and Janet L. Ulmer.

The crypt supplies Fan’s years, while the 1958 notice supplies her address and family names. A civil birth record and a full cemetery register entry have not been added to this archive.
