Julius Jacob was a Frankfurt bank director. After years at Schubertstraße 13, the 1934 address book lists him at Savigny-Straße 22 with the same telephone number. His fate after mid-1934 remains unknown.
Frankfurt death certificate no. 857, registered on 16 June 1931, identifies Anna as the wife of Bankdirektor Julius Jacob. It says the Frankfurt Polizeipräsident reported her death in writing. The act documents Julius’s title and marital relationship; it does not name Anna’s parents.
Anna Jacob’s 1931 death notice names Julius as her husband and Adolf Jacob as their son. It gives the family home as Schubertstraße 13 in Frankfurt am Main. The notice is the direct contemporary record connecting Julius to the Reichenbach family.
Frankfurt’s official address books list Bankdirektor Julius Jacob at Eschersheimer Landstraße 46 III from 1918 through 1922 and at Schubertstraße 13 E from 1923 through 1933. The 1931 entry repeats the address printed in Anna’s death notice and gives the household telephone as Maingau 73695.
The 1931 commercial register names Julius as first deputy chair of the supervisory board of Aquila Aktiengesellschaft für Handels- und Industrieunternehmungen, then recorded with capital of six million Reichsmarks. A modern study of Jewish members of Germany’s business elite, drawing on a 1932 directors-and-supervisory-board directory, connects him with Danat Bank and Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt and records eleven supervisory-board mandates.
The 1934 address book lists Julius as Privat. at Savigny-Straße 22 I, with the same telephone number, 73695. From 1935, the reviewed directories no longer identify this person; Wolfgang Hartdegen is listed at Savigny-Straße 22 with that number in 1935. These changes do not establish whether Julius died, emigrated or moved. His fate after mid-1934 remains unknown. A Berlin textile manufacturer with the same name belonged to a different household: he was married to Martha Kleinmann and lived at Wielandstraße 29.

What remains uncertain
Julius’s birth, parents and fate after mid-1934 remain unknown. His absence from the later directories and the reassignment of his telephone number do not establish a death or emigration. The similarly named Berlin manufacturer belonged to a different household.
