The Halberstadt Jewish cemetery register records Moritz Reichenbach as a merchant connected with Quedlinburg and places his burial in plot VIII 6 at Klein Quenstedter Straße.
Miriam Mathilde Reichenbach née Loewenthal lies in the adjoining plot VIII 5. Her Hebrew gravestone calls her the wife of R. Moshe HaLevi Reichenbach. The shared surname, adjoining plots and register evidence identify Moshe HaLevi and Moritz as the same husband.
The register also records a child Paul Reichenbach, who died on 18 October 1904, as the son of the Quedlinburg merchant Moritz Reichenbach. This child is not Paul Reichenbach (1876–1935).
A separate Online-OFB Juden im Deutschen Reich entry records another Moritz Reichenbach, born about 1828, described on 5 February 1857 as a Posamentier in Ballenstedt, married that day in Halberstadt to Minna Helft, with a daughter Franziska born in Ballenstedt in 1865. Because that household has different names and dates, this page does not identify him with the Quedlinburg merchant.
A 1916 commercial-register notice for Halberstadt HR A 934 names Moritz Reichenbach as proprietor of M. Reichenbach and records procuration for his wife Mathilde née Löwenthal. These names identify the cemetery household with the gut-casings business. An entry dated 3 June 1929, published on 6 August, records the end of Mathilde’s procuration and grants procuration to Meta Reichenbach. Meta’s relationship to the household remains unproved. The business records do not establish a family connection to the Jacob–Adolf–Paul clothing line or prove that the later proprietor Kurt was Moritz’s son.
